WELCOME TO BWA FINLAND
Supporting English-Speaking Women In Finland
Since 1972, BWA has existed to support English-speaking women throughout Finland, regardless of race, nationality, or background. Through our program of events, that run from September to May each year, we raise funds for the Jaatinen Centre in Helsinki. The centre works to improve the lives of disabled children and their caregivers. Our strong links with the British Embassy place us in a unique position to fund raise whilst helping our members network, socialise and receive support from each other. Join BWA today to receive a number of benefits, including our exclusive Helsinki & Uusimaa discounts card.
ACTIVITIES
BWA Finland welcomes you to attend one of our in-person or online events. From social gatherings for women, to charity dinners where partners & friends are welcome, we have a full and varied schedule of activities that includes something for everyone.

At BWA Finland, we are dedicated to supporting our members through social participation. Our events allow members to mix and form friendships, aiding in integration whether you’re Finnish, have lived in Finland for many years or have recently arrived. Events are in-person as well as online, and cover a broad range of topics, along with a diverse selection of speakers. We are always striving to make a difference to our members and the wider community, and invite you to learn more, attend an event as a guest, or become a member.

BWA’s goal is to promote social networking opportunities for members wherever possible. We encourage members to learn from each other, share contacts and gain the confidence to take up new hobbies or make new professional connections. Our speakers include a number of women at the top of their fields. We also hold annual Christmas and spring dining events where you can meet a large number of other members in one place. Join today for access to these events in-person and online.

Our aim is to not only support members but raise funds for charitable enterprises that share our values. At present our focus is the Jaatinen Centre in Helsinki.
Vammaisperheyhdistys Jaatinen ry is an association founded in 1997 by families with disabled children. The centre provides facilities for children with diverse needs, and their siblings, including a sensory room that opened in 2020.
The centre also organizes plenty of supervised activities, clubs and groups for disabled children and adolescents, their siblings and parents. Volunteers and dedicated staff keep the Centre running. Their work continues to be of the highest standards, and we are proud to support them.
